Darren Dusher, Pastor

Pastor Darren Dusher and his wife Bethany were called to plant Berean Baptist Church in Parsons in 2003. Bro. and Mrs. Dusher were married in May 1998. They have three children and one grandson.

At age 18, Pastor Dusher felt the Lord leading him into the ministry in some capacity. After graduating from Labette County High School, he went to Labette Community College in Parsons and then completed his Bachelor of Science in Psychology at Pittsburg State University in 1991. From there, the Lord led him to Baptist Bible College Graduate School of Theology in Springfield, Missouri, where he received a Master of Arts in Biblical Counseling in 1994.

After graduation in Springfield, Bro. Dusher served as associate pastor to Bro. Melvin Williams at Berean Baptist Church of Strafford, Missouri. Following their wedding in 1998, the Dushers moved to Council Grove, Kansas, to serve as pastor of the Berean Baptist Church from 1999 to 2003 when God called them to plant church in Parsons. They continue to serve the Lord together with their family in Parsons.

Mike Carter, Assistant Pastor

Bro. Mike was born and raised in Oswego, Kansas. He graduated from Labette County High School and then married his high school sweetheart, Stephanie Baird. They have two married daughters and six grandchildren.

Bro. Mike’s mother raised her kids in church, and Mike trusted Jesus to be his Savior as a boy. Prior to joining Berean Baptist Church, he and his wife attended another Baptist church where he served as Sunday School teacher, song leader, and treasurer. They joined Berean Baptist Church through baptism in March 2008.

Through the preaching and teaching of Pastor Dusher and other men of God, Bro. Mike surrendered to full time service, and in 2011, he surrendered to preach. He has served at Berean Baptist Church in various capacities through the years and is currently a deacon, Sunday School teacher, song leader and treasurer.

Kyle Martin, Youth Leader

Bro. Kyle had the privilege of growing up in a Christian and ministry focused home. At the age of 12, he accepted Jesus as his personal Savior and surrendered to preach the same year. The Lord opened the door for him to attend Heartland Baptist Bible College in 2007, and he graduated with his degree in 2011.

His time in Bible college gave him many opportunities and blessings. The greatest blessing was meeting his wife, Bethany. They married in June 2011, and God has allowed them to serve at Berean since January 2012. They have been blessed with four children and serve God together in many different ways. Their greatest prayer is to be found faithful in all God gives them to do.
